School Meals Update

The Ohio Department of Education released the following statement regarding school meals for the 2023-2024 school year. 

"Ohio Budget Authorizes Reduced Price Meal Reimbursement: The signed Ohio budget bill includes a provision for the state to cover the cost for reduced price breakfast and lunch. Sponsors will provide reduced-price eligible students meals at no cost. Meals will continue to be claimed based on eligibility of free, reduced and paid. The federal reimbursement rate for reduced price meals will remain unchanged." 

This means that families qualifying for free and reduced meals will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost for the 2023-2024 school year. As a reminder, all families must reapply for benefits each school year. Free and Reduced meal applications are available online at payschoolscentral.com or you can request a paper copy at any Plain Local School building. Please note that payschoolscentral.com will reopen for the 23-24 school year on August 1.
